Every semester, USU STARS! GEAR UP encourages students and their families to visit area colleges, and universities. Visiting a campus can help students and families realize the possibilities that exist beyond high school and their community. These visits have the added benefit of easing the concerns and anxieties of both students and families, especially for first generation students and their parents.
During these visits, students may discover something they never considered, or even that the school they liked is not a good fit. These experiences provide students a chance to see classrooms, meet instructors, and talk to current college students. For many USU STARS! GEAR UP students, a campus visit may be the first experience with a technical school or college, making visits not only important but life-changing experiences.
