Name Tags and Badges

Name tags and badges should be used to identify you and your affiliation with the university. All name tags and badges should be created following the university brand standards.

The content guidelines below it easy to create name tags that present you, and the university, in a polished, professional manner.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees

Because of the small size, please follow the content guidelines to ensure your name tags/badges meets brand and production requirements. Name Tags/Badges cannot be modified and must be produced by Aggie Print and Mail.

Content Guidelines and Best Practices


  • Name 
    • Line one must include your name (first or first and last). If space permits, you can add your personal pronouns OR one credential. Line one is approximately 17 characters including spaces. If additional credentials are needed, they must be added to line two.
  • Credentials
    • Should be separated by commas and should not include periods.
      • Ex: PhD, not Ph.D.
  • Personal Pronouns
    • Should be lowercase and in parentheses.
      • Examples: (she/her), (she/her/hers), (he/him), (he/him/his), (they/them), (they/them/theirs)
  • Department, Division, or Unit Name
    • Line three and four are designated for the department, division, or unit name. The lines are approximately 25 characters including spaces)
      • Remove unnecessary words such as “department of”, “division of”, or “office of” before decreasing font size.
      • Abbreviate assistant (asst.), associate (assoc.) and coordinator (coord.) before decreasing font size.

Events and Temporary Student Workers/Volunteers

When you need an unofficial name tag/badge for temporary event staff or student volunteers, use a vertical layout.

    • Temporary name tag/badges must include the formal university, college, or administrative unit mark.
  • Name

Official Student Organizations

Official student organization name tags/badges should be used in a professional setting to identify yourself and the student organization you are affiliated with. Clubs or other student organizations can not use their club logos on official student organization name tags/badges.
