So, you're interested in joining AFROTC. You've learned about the cadet life, you've reviewed the benefits and careers, you've gotten your questions answered, and you're ready to give it a shot. Simply register for the classes listed below and come to class!

Four-Year Program

Fall Semester - Freshman Year (Recommended)

Most cadets begin ROTC during the fall semester. If you are registering for a fall semester and you have 4 years until you graduate, these are the classes you should take.

  • AS 1010: Introduction to Air Force Today (1 credit)
  • AS 1110: Leadership Laboratory (1 credit)
  • AS 3060: Physical Training (2 credits - registration is optional, attendance is mandatory)

(3.5-Year Program) Spring Semester - Freshman Year

Many cadets do not begin ROTC until spring semester--so don't stress if that is your situation! Just register for the classes listed below and we'll get you caught up.

  • AS 1020: Introduction to Air Force Today (1 credit)
  • AS 1120: Leadership Laboratory (1 credit)
  • AS 3060: Physical Training (2 credits - registration is optional, attendance is mandatory)

Three-Year Program

Fall Semester - Sophomore Year

If you have 3 years until you graduate from USU, you'll want to double up your first year of classes. Here is what you should register for:

  • AS 1010: Introduction to Air Force Today (1 credit)
  • AS 2010: Evolution of Air and Space Power (1 credit)
  • AS 2110: Leadership Laboratory (1 credit)
  • AS 3060: Physical Training (2 credits - registration is optional, attendance is mandatory)

Spring Semester - Sophomore Year

In the Air Force ROTC program there is one required summer training and you need at least two semesters of preparation before we send you and you are required to have two full years in the Professional Officer Course (Junior/Senior years).
