Research Awards

MacMahon Research Award
Established by Trustee Professor and internationally renowned ecologist Jim and Patty MacMahon to assist future generations of graduate students studying ecology in the Department of Biology. Friends of MacMahon may designate a gift towards the endowment to grow this award for years to come or directly towards scholarship funds to be awarded in the coming year.

Matt Del Grosso Endowed Research Award
The Matt Del Grosso Endowed Research Award is established in loving memory of Matt Del Grosso who died in a hiking accident in Green Canyon near North Logan on 21 May 2015. Funded by family, friends, colleagues, and the Department of Biology, this award honors Matt's passion and love of travel and research.

The Frank Messina Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Frank J. Messina passed away unexpectedly at his home in Logan, UT on Friday, February 25, 2022. To honor Frank, family and friends have established the Frank Messina Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Utah State University. The scholarship will support students in the Biology Department.
