Environmental Geosciences
GEO 1060 - Environmental Geoscience

3 credit hours (Spring/Fall)
This course fulfills the General Education Breadth Physical Sciences- BPS requirement.

Learn how geoscience controls the processes and the quality of the environments we live in and depend upon. Explore the roles human play in managing and altering our landscapes. This course is meant to give you a broader understanding of how natural environments work and provide a deeper understanding of current environmental issues. 

Field Excursions
GEO 2500 - Geology Field Excursions

1 credit hour (Spring)
This course fulfills no General Education requirements besides having fun.

Come spend a weekend trip experiencing in the outdoors with experts and fellow students! Only offered in the Spring semester, and led by a different faculty to a new location every year. Very little geologic background is necessary, just an inquisitive mind will do. Places visited in the past include: the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Moab, and the St. George area. Come learn about the geoscience behind our amazing scenery!

Epic Earth
GEO 3000 - Epic Earth: Geoscience of National Parks
3 credit hours (Spring/Fall)
This course fulfills the General Education Depth Physical Sciences- DPS requirement.
