Test Preparation

Study Materials

Preparation books for the GRE, MAT, CLEP, ACT and several other exams are available in the Career Design Center library, University Inn 102.

Check with individual test websites as linked on these pages for free study materials for each test program. Many of these websites also offer more comprehensive test preparation materials (books, software, etc.) for sale.

Most book stores and many local libraries carry study guides and preparation software for the exams offered through the USU Professional Testing Center as well.

Preparation Classes

There are test prep companies like Kaplan and others which offer preparation classes for exams like the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and others.

Though the Professional Testing Center must avoid endorsing any specific test preparation company or organization, a good way to find resources for preparation is to use an online search engine.  Search using the test name, the fact that you are looking for test prep, and your city and state.

For example, using a Google search bar with the following search terms: act, test, preparation, Logan, & Utah, we generated a list in which the first five hits are actual local sources for ACT study classes or tutoring.

USU courses in MCAT and DAT test preparation are offered each Spring Semester, Biology 1030 for the MCAT and Biology 1040 for the DAT. For more information contact pre-med adviser Yvonne Kobe at 435-797-3373 or yvonne.kobe@usu.edu.
