Ray B. West Writing Center

Ray B. West (RWST) is located on the south side of the Quad. When you enter the building, head down the stairs to the basement and turn right. The Writing Center is in room 104. When you arrive, please take a seat in the reception area. Your tutor will be with you shortly. If you need assistance before your appointment, ring the bell on the desk.

Library Writing Center

Great for shorter conversations about all writing types and drop-in sessions

The Library Writing Center is located in the southwest corner of the Merrill-Cazier Library in Room 162. When you arrive, please take a seat in the reception area. Your tutor will be with you shortly. If you need assistance before your appointment, ring the bell in the reception area.

Science Writing Center

Great for in-depth conversations about science writing

The Science Writing Center is in the basement of the Eccles Science Learning Center (ESLC) in room 044A. The building is located south of the TSC. We recommend entering the building on the north side, using the doors closest to LLC housing. When you walk in, go down the staircase and make a U-turn at the bottom. The Science Writing Center is tucked in a hallway under the staircase. There are signs to direct you if you get lost. When you arrive, please take a seat in the reception area. Your tutor will be with you shortly. If you need assistance before your appointment, ring the bell in the reception area.

Online Writing Center

Great for mid-length, online conversations about all writing types

Written Feedback (No Meeting)

Great for general feedback on almost-completed writing

Attach your paper and assignment description to the appointment questionnaire on usu.mywconline.com. Your materials are due by your appointment start time. (If you prefer, you may email your materials instead.) Your tutor will upload their feedback to your appointment form within 24 hours after the appointment. You will receive an email when your tutor has submitted their feedback. If you need help accessing your tutor's comments, please email them or the Writing Center.

Example: If you schedule an appointment for Tuesday at 3 PM, you would need to submit your paper and assignment description by Tuesday at 3 PM. You would receive your tutor's feedback by 3 PM the following day (Wednesday).

  • No meeting with a tutor
  • Not freelance editing. Tutors will provide suggestions, not edits.
  • Receive written feedback from a tutor within 24 hours after your scheduled appointment
  • Writing subjects: all, science
  • Same-day appointments must be scheduled at least 20 minutes in advance
  • Draft required; no brainstorming
  • Schedule appointments up to 7 days in advance
