ESPORTS

The Esports Program offers the opportunity for individuals to play organized video games in a recreational but competitive atmosphere within their campus community. They have the ability to learn new esports skills, recreate in a social environment, and have fun with fellow Aggies. The program put on together single day tournaments, supervises community hours, and oversee the Esports student-run club.

Aggie Rec Esports Camp

Beginner Camp

Join us for our Aggie Esports Camp! This camp is designed to serve 10-13yrs old. We will offer 2 sessions where campers can expect to learn and develop skills regarding four or five age appropriate games per week. Campers can expect to partake in tournaments, learn new techniques, team orientated competitions, and learn the importance of gaming to one’s physical, social, emotional, and mental health. Campers of all skill levels are welcome!

Session 2 - June 24-28

Advanced Camp

This camp is designed to serve 14-17yr old’s. We will offer 2 sessions where campers can anticipate learning the world of Esports at a collegiate level. Campers will receive insights to game strategies, broadcasting production, speaking with collegiate players, competitive play with assistance and pointers from specialist instructors and other campers.

Session 2 - June 15-19

Registration

Registration for Aggie Rec Camp is done through recportal.usu.edu. All USU affiliates have an account linked to their A# and strong password. Community members will have to create an account. 

  1. Find the Session you are interested in and click register.
  2. Add or select the child you would like to register.
  3. Accept waiver, add contacts, and fill out questionnaire.
  4. Add to cart and check out.

Rates

The cost for each Beginner Session is $175 per child for USU Faculty/Staff and $200 for Community Members.

The cost for each Advanced Session is $175 per child for USU Faculty/Staff and $200 for Community Members.

A Typical Day

What kind of  games will my child be playing?

Games for all age groups: All campers, regardless of age, will have the opportunity to play a variety of popular and engaging games this can include:

  • Minecraft
  • Fall Guys
  • Rocket League
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Mario Kart

Games Specifically for Age’s 14-17: For the older campers, we will introduce a few more complex and strategic games, this provides them with more challenges and opportunities to develop advanced gaming skills. This can include:

  • Halo Infinite
  • League of Legends
  • Overwatch
  • Valorant

What should my camper wear or bring?

  • Refillable water bottle with a lip or cap
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes
  • Campers should eat prior to attending camp

Can my camper bring their own equipment?

We highly discourage campers bringing their own equipment as these items could get lost or broken during daily camp activities. Should a camper choose to bring their own equipment, they will be responsible for this equipment. Aggie Rec Esports Camp will not be liable for these items. We will provide the necessary equipment for your camper during sessions.

Will my child have adequate supervision throughout the day? What certifications do the staff members have?

Safety is our #1 priority! Our campers get the care they deserve with our 8-to-1 camper-to-staff ratio. The staff members are all trained in American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid, Sexual Assault Training, COVD-19 policies and procedures and a background check will be completed.

Is camp fun?

Absolutely! Whether it’s competitive or recreational gaming, arts and crafts, board games, or socializing with peers, we offer a wide variety of activities that can be enjoyed by all.

Esports Club

There are currently 80+ students participating in competitive esports teams and 700+ students in the Esports Club Discord Community. The club hosts tryouts at the beginning of every semester for many esports titles. The club has large opening socials, weekly esports watch parties, and frequent pick-up games.

Esports Center

The Esports Center (ESC) is the home of Esports Programs. It is a space for USU students to come together to play video games - competitively or casually- or discover new games. The center is equipped with 15 high performance gaming PC’s, Xbox Series X, PS5, live esports entertainment, broadcasting lounge, and retro style arcade machines. The programs will host tournaments, social events, community hours, and more.

ESPORTS Facilities Rental

Making a Reservation

To begin the reservation process for our USU ESPORTS facilities, kindly fill out our reservation form. This form will prompt you to select the desired space(s) for reservation, indicate the number of individuals in your group, and specify the quantity of machines needed. Additionally, you'll be asked to furnish contact details for the reserving party and relevant information about your group. Upon form completion, a member of our facilities team will reach out to assist you in finalizing your reservation. Once our staff confirms the reservation, a confirmation will be issued. Please note that requests should be submitted a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. Requests within that timeframe will be considered on an individual basis.
