Health and Safety Courses

Campus Recreation offers a variety of health and safety courses. Instructors are authorized and certified in their area of specialty. Any online course content will be emailed to registered participants at least 3 days prior to the course.

CPR/AED/First Aid Courses

Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid

Purpose

The purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer with First Aid

Purpose

American Red Cross Blended Learning CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid Courses instruct those who have a duty to act (professional rescuers) in the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies. This includes using an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest.

  • Multiple Rescuer Response training

Lifeguarding Courses

Lifeguarding

Purpose

Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 15 years
  • Swim 300 yards continuously
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

New Customer

If you do not have an A-number and you have never logged into the Campus Recreation online store, you can create a new account.

Please do not create a new account if you have an A#, have had an A# in the past, or have created a Campus Recreation online store account in the past. This is for new off-campus customers only. If you have tried recovering your username/password and are still having technical issues please email us campusrec@usu.edu.

Phone Registration

Call 435-797-1785 to speak with the HPER Service Desk. This option will take a few minutes longer if you have never registered with us before, or if the shop staff are helping customers in-person. We encourage you to register online, but we are happy to help you over the phone during our regular business hours. At certain times and for certain courses, this may be the only registration option.

In-Person Registration

We are happy to help you in person at the HPER Service Desk.

Technical Issues & Cancellations

Please follow the directions above for registering online. If you are still having issues logging in, please email campusrec@usu.edu and we will look into your account. If you are having online difficulties, it may be quicker to register over the phone or in-person at the HPER Service Desk.

Cancellations can be made in-person, over the phone or by email. Course cancellations must be made more than seven days prior to the course start date in order to be eligible for a refund. Hybrid WFR course cancellations must be made more than two weeks prior to the classroom start date to be eligible for a refund.
